York 0-1 Ebbsfleet United

Liam Daish's Ebbsfleet United kept their play-off dreams alive with a narrow win over York City on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area when York's Daniel Parslow was penalised for a foul on George Purcell.

Midfielder Stacy Long stepped up to take the resulting free kick and placed his spectacular 25-yard effort in the bottom-right corner.

Fleet almost doubled their tally just four minutes later but Raphael Nade saw his header from 12 yards out miss the left-hand post.

York had their fair share of chances but were just unable to create an incisive finish in the final third of the pitch.

York bookings: None.

Ebbsfleet bookings: Bull 64.
