Saturday's Blue Square South Wrap

League leaders Lewes recorded another victory away from home while Maidenhead United managed to come out on top in a five-goal thriller at Thurrock.

Basingstoke 0-0 Weston-S-Mare

Promotion chasers Basingstoke will be disappointed that they couldn't break down their opposition at home and will have to be content with a point.

Weston on the other hand, will undoubtedly be the happier of the two sides as this latest result sees them move up to 14th place on the table.

Bath City 0-0 Bognor Regis Town

Over 670 fans turned out for this match but had little to cheer about as neither of the two sides could find the back of the net.

Bath boss John Relish will have few positives to take from this encounter as they were held by Bognor, who are currently fourth from bottom on the log.

Cambridge City 1-2 Bromley

Bromley returned to winning ways this weekend with a fairly comfortable win over Cambridge City at City Ground.

Former Welsh Under-21 International Gareth Williams opened for Bromley on the half-hour mark and fellow forward Danny Hockton added their second in the 62nd minute.

Cambridge substitute Tom Youngs managed to pull one back for the home side on 77 minutes but it was not enough as the Ravens managed to hold onto their deserved lead.

Fisher Athletic 0-3 Lewes

League leaders Lewes produced another assured performance on the road, to extend their lead to six points over second-placed Eastbourne Borough.

Fisher did well to hold the visitors in the first half but it was all one way traffic in the second period as they were unable to contain Lewes' potent attacking force.

Ian Simpemba broke the deadlock after 49 minutes and striker Matt Groves notched their second in the 71st.

Andrew Drury netted the third in the 82nd to help his side to another comfortable win over a faltering Fisher side.

Havant and Waterlooville 1-0 Eastleigh

The Hawks claimed a mid-table spot on Saturday afternoon with a narrow win over promotion chasing Eastleigh.

The home side left it late though, as substitute Chamal Fenelon netted the winning goal in the 87th minute.

Sutton Utd 0-1 Bishop's Stortford

Bishop's Stortford maintained their push for a promotion play-off spot with a hard-fought victory over rock-bottom Sutton United.

The 428 fans that turned out for this encounter had to wait until the dying moments to see the winning goal as Greg Pearson popped up to bag a vital goal.

Thurrock 2-3 Maidenhead Utd

The Magpies produced a remarkable comeback to snatch all three points from Thurrock with two late goals.

The home side started well with Che Stadhart finding the back of the net after just five minutes and Maidenhead drew level through Darti brown five minute before half time.

Michael Malcolm restored Fleet's lead on the hour mark but an 88th minute penalty from Dwane Lee restored parity.

With the game heading into injury time Maidenhead's John Hastings scored a dramatic winner to help his side collect a valuable away win.
