Saturday's Blue Square South wrap

League leaders Lewes were overthrown at home while the Rocks and Fisher Athletic enjoyed a flurry of goals in this Saturday's Blue Square South Wrap.

Bath City 1-1 Bromley

Bath City continued their push in the top half of the Blue Square standings following a 1-1 draw at Twerton Park.

The Romans had to fight-back after conceding an early goal.

McDonnell nicked an 13th minute advantage for the Lilywhites, but Dave Gilroy equalised for the hosts on the 29th minute mark.

City fall to fourth place in the league after Hampton and Richmond's away victory at Lewes.

Eastleigh 1-1 St Albans

Struggling St Albans managed to earn a much-needed point against promotion hopefuls Eastleigh at Silverlake Stadium.

Andrew Forbes opened the scoring for the Spitfires in the 34th minute, but eight minutes after the break Simon Martin leveled the scores, ensuring the Saints walked away with a share of the spoils.

Fisher 4-2 Sutton Utd

Fisher Athletic trounced a relegation touted Sutton United side 4-2 at Champion Hill.

Craig Dundas got the game underway, netting in the first minute of the game for the Saints.

Such an early lead is hard to maintain though and Andre McCollin was on fire for Fisher.

He pulled the goal back for in the 10th minute, before adding a second on the 29th minute mark.

After the break, The U's managed to equalise again through Dundas, but the rest of the half would prove disastrous for Ernie Howe's men.

McCollin netted twice more in the 57th and 90th minutes, making it a quartet of goals for the striker.

Hayes & Yeading 2-2 Dorchester

Danny Allen Page gave the hosts an early 11th minute lead, but Jones Awah pulled one back for the Magpies a mere two minutes later.

Joshua Scott restored the lead in the 33rd minute for Gary Haylock's men, but Jamie Gleeson's strike in the 53rd minute ensured that Dorchester picked up a deserved point.

Lewes 1-2 Hampton & Richmond

League leaders Lewes hit their first hurdle at the Dripping Pan this year when play-off potentials Hampton & Richmond secured all three points with a 2-1 win.

Graeme Harper opened the scoring in the 6th minute of this highly anticipated clash, but the rest of the first-half was a hard-fought battle, with both sides failing to add to the scoreline.

Shortly after the break, Stuart Lake added to the visitors' lead, with the Rooks looking totally out of the game.

Steve King's men did get a consolation in the 89th minute though, when Dale Binns converted a spot-kick.

Lewes remain at the top of the Blue Square South summit, with the Beavers progressing to third spot.

Maidenhead Utd 1-2 Basingstoke

Francis Vines' Basingstoke charges stole all three points at York Road with a 2-1 over Maidenhead.

The hosts were awarded an early lead through Manny Williams, but the Dragons hit back with a Ben Willis brace.

The midfielder scored in the 31st minute to cancel out Williams' strike and then netted a second five minutes later.

The visitors upped the ante for their play-off place and cosily lie in fourth-spot on the Blue Square standings.

Bognor Regis Town 3-1 Thurrock

Thurrock suffered a second-half rout from South strugglers Bognor Regis Town at Nyewood Lane.

After a dour, goalless fist half, the hosts kicked off and ended the second spell in fine fettle.

Mark Knee opened the Rocks account in the 66th minute, with Andy Pearson (81) and Luke Nightingale (85) made it 3-0 to Michael Birmingham's men.

The visitors managed to net a consolation goal in the 90th minute though, but the Fleet's efforts came too late.

Braintree Town 0-1 Cambridge City

Cambrigde City walked away with the full tally of points due to an unlikely scorer against Braintree Town at Cressing Road.

The game seemed poised for a draw with neither side looking a real threat at goal.

However, in the 70th minute James Bakers' attempt at a clearance was knocked back into his own net - handing the Lilywhites the lead and ultimately the match.

The win pushes Gary Roberts men further away from the dreaded drop zone with no real effect on the hosts' standings.

The following fixtures have been postponed due to inclement weather...

Weston-S-Mare v Eastbourne Borough

Newport County v Havant and Waterlooville

Bishops Sford v Welling United
