Exeter 1-2 Torquay

Torquay secured a one-goal advantage over Exeter after the first leg of their Blue Square Premier play-off semi-final.

The match had looked to be heading for a 1-1 draw until Chris Zebroski popped up with a dramatic last-minute winne4r for the visiting side.

Exeter had dominated possession for most of the first half but could not use it to their advantage and it was Torquay who eventually took the lead thanks to Tim Sills who headed home Lee Phillips' cross.

The Grecians thought they'd equalised when Wayne Carlisle put the ball in the back of the net, only to be denied by the linesman's flag.

But Carlisle made up for the disallowed goal when he thumped home a half-volley to bring the sides level in the 76th minute.

The deadlock was finally broken when City keeper Paul Jones made what could prove to be a terribly expensive blunder. He miscued a clearance straight to Zebroski's feet and the Torquay striker coolly slotted the ball home to gain his side an invaluable advantage.

The second leg will take place at Plainmoor on Monday, kicking off at 19.45 BST.
