Buckle wants Robertson stay

Torquay United manager Paul Buckle insists he would like Chris Robertson to stay at Plainmoor despite his transfer-listed status.

The 21-year-old caught the eye of several clubs as he notched up 39 appearances for the Gulls last season both as a right-back and centre-back.

But Buckle insists the defender is a key member of the squad and will only be sold for a considerable fee.

He told This Is South Devon: "Chris is a valuable member of the squad.

"He was last season, and he still is now.

"If he were to leave, I believe he's worth money, and I've said so before.

"But we haven't spoken about him leaving, and we carry on as we are unless something happens to change things."
