Ebbsfleet United were made to rue their missed chances as they were held to a draw by fellow promotion chasers Exeter City at Stonebridge Road.
The hosts had to glorious chances to break the deadlock early on but Luke Moore missed the target from 12 yards and Stacy Long saw his drilled effort saved in style by Exeter goalkeeper Andy Marriott.
The pressure finally paid off in the 16th minute when the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on Ebbsfleet forward John Akinde.
Chris McPhee made no mistake with the resulting penalty, as he blasted the ball into the bottom-right corner.
However, the Grecians drew level just minutes after the restart when Matthew Gill pounced on a blocked shot and placed his shot in the bottom-left corner.
Ebbsfleet bookings: Barrett 48.
Exeter bookings: Gill 13, Taylor 55, Moxey 80, Carlisle 84
