Ebbsfleet 0-3 Rushden
Ebbsfleet United saw their dreams of clinching a play-off berth dashed by a well-oiled Rushden side on Tuesday night.
The Diamonds broke the deadlock after 21 minutes when Jon Challinor sent a left-footed effort into the top-left corner.
Ebbsfleet held firm for a further hour before Rushden's Michael Rankine latched onto an Andy Gooding through ball and placed his shot in the back of the net.
Rushden compounded the home side's misery in injury time when Lee Tomlin collected a Conal Platt pass on the right and placed his shot back across the goalmouth and into the bottom-left corner.
Ebbsfleet bookings: Eribenne 31, McPhee 51, MacDonald 74.
