Histon 3-2 Ebbsfleet Utd

Histon maintained their push for a promotion play-off spot with a hard-fought win over Ebbsfleet United at The Glassworld Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Stutes made the early breakthrough with Daniel Wright finding the back of the net after eight minutes with a close-range finish.

Fleet drew level in the 24th minute when John Akinde collected a Luke Moore pass and put his shot in the bottom-right of goal from 12 yards out.

The visitors doubled their tally just before the half-time break when Stacy Long latched onto a Neil Barrett pass and placed his shot in the bottom-left corner.

Histon battled for much of the second period and finally drew level in the 74th minute when Mat Mitchell-King headed a Gareth Gwillim cross in at the centre of the penalty area.

The hosts claimed the lead just four minutes later thanks to an 18-yard strike from Neil Andrews and managed to hold on until the final whistle.

Histon bookings: Wright 9, Mitchell-King 75, Andrews 79.

Ebbsfleet bookings: Akinde 24, Long 45.
