Ebbsfleet 1-1 Kidderminster

Kidderminster Harriers kept their play-off ambitions intact courtesy of a late Matthew Barnes-Homer strike which ensured a 1-1 away draw with Ebbsfleet on Thursday night.

The hosts made their attacking intentions clear early on as winger Ricky Shakes made a superb run down the right inside the first minute, only to see his shot fly over the bar.

Harriers then saw Chris McPhee strike a volley just over the bar, but both goalkeepers were only really tested after 20 minutes.

Michael Gash was denied from 20-yards out by Adam Bartlett before Fleet stopper Lance Cronin punched away a robust effort from Stefan Moore.

However, the hosts did manage to open their account from the penalty spot after Lee Baker brought down the tricky Shakes in the box.

Stacy Long sent Bartlett the wrong way and handed Ebbsfleet the lead in the 25th minute.

Just when it seemed that the visitors would head back to Aggborough empty handed, McPhee's well-worked long ball into the danger area was met by Barnes-Homer, who smashed a superb volley past Cronin to ensure a share of the spoils in the 83rd minute.

Harriers are now three points clear of sixth-placed Stevenage Borough - their closest play-off rivals.
