Wrexham 1-1 Ebbsfleet United

Wrexham failed to make their dominance count and were punished for it as Ebbsfleet United left The Racecourse Ground with a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon.

The home side took control of the match very early on and were rewarded with a goal on 15 minutes.

Andy Mangan opened the scoring for the home side with a neat finish after receiving a clever ball from Christian Smith.

While the visitors pressed forward when possible, the home side held the dominance but failed to turn any of their impressive build-up play into danger situations for the opposition defence.

The Dragons would be left to rue their inability to convert in the second period when Moses Ashikodi grabbed an equaliser against the run of play.

The forward did excellently to pick up a ball from Rory Ginty before powering his shot home past a hapless Sam Russell in the Wrexham goal.

Luke Holden had a great chance to put the home side back into the lead towards the end, but once again the host's finishing let them down and they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

And if the afternoon couldn't get more frustrating for the home side, Mangan had to be assisted from the pitch after picking up an injury, compounding manager Dean Saunders' woes.
