The Darlington Arena was opened in the summer of 2003 and is a far cry from the club's previous home of Feethams. The move from Feethams proved to be an emotional affair but the stadium represents a new future and facilities light years away from the old ground. The stadium is situated on the edge of town on Neasham Road.
The white poles which form the structure of the ground ensure that the roof of the ground's stands need no supporting pillars on the inside which could obstruct fan's view which, from virtually anywhere in the ground, is fantastic. Indeed following the action from the back of the South Stand barely requires the straining of the neck muscles thanks to a panoramic style view. The club's all important facilities are housed in the South Stand. Escalators and lifts offer easy access to the second floors of the South Stand where entrances to the executive boxes can be found.
Inside the stadium, a single deck design is employed with wheelchair areas pushed about midway up the stands. This offers a far better view than many others can provide.
Outside the ground the club has a high tech ticket office which can print tickets for games as and when required along with a club shop near by. Between the turnstiles for the West stand sits the Tin Shed bar and the Corner Bar which are open before the match and offer fans a place to enjoy a drink once the full time whistle has blown.
