Daniel McBreen
York City boss Colin Walker has started running the rule over potential summer targets and admits that former fans' favourite Daniel McBreen is one of the names on his list.
Walker has revealed that he's already spoken five strikers and seven midfield players about a move to KitKat Crescent.
"You can't just have a Plan 'A'," Walker told The Press.
"You have to have other options if things don't come to fruition.
"Some of these players are in the league and some in the top five or six in the Conference."
McBreen wasn't one of the players Walker has spoken to, but the York chief says he will not rule out a move for the frontman.
He added: "I only got the information on Friday morning.
"The other strikers that I have spoken to are more up the list than he (McBreen) is - but I am not ruling anything in or out."
McBreen's contract with Scottish side St Johnstone has expired and manager Derek McInnes has decided not to offer the former Scunthorpe striker a new deal.
