Blue Square Premier club Halifax Town narrowly avoided relegation this season but their fight for survival is far from over.
The consortium looking to buy the club will have to raise their offer after the initial proposal to pay 2.5p in the pound for all debts was rejected on Wednesday.
Administrator Rob Sadler of Begbies Traynor is now hoping to convince the consortium to up their bid to 10p when they meet again on Friday morning.
This means that the consortium, headed by businessman David Bosomworth, will have to increase their financial outlay to a significantly larger amount of £800,000.
Added to that would be the ongoing losses of running the club at £30,000 a month.
The future certainly looks bleak for Halifax and ironically, these latest developments come after Calderdale Council committed £2.7 million to finishing work on The Shay stadium.
