Michael Carr
Blue square Premier side Northwich Victoria have confirmed that midfielder Michael Carr has agreed terms with League Two side Morecambe.
The Crewe-born player can also play in defence and scored two vitals goals at the end of the campaign to help the Vics beat relegation.
Carr was subject to interest from Chester City in the January transfer window and handed in a transfer request, which was subsequently rejected by manager Dino Maamria.
The 24-year-old would have commanded a fee set by a tribunal if he had signed for Chester in January but he is now available to move on a free transfer.
Maamria told the Northwich Guardian: "He has agreed terms. He rang me to say thanks for everything and that he had enjoyed his time working with me.
"I completely understand his situation. His deal was not as good as some other players.
"I think he struggled to understand that because he was one of our best players without doubt.
"He certainly had a tough season but I was delighted with how it ended as he scored two vital goals to help us stay up."
Meanwhile, Maamria has also release half a dozen players in a bid to free up some transfer funds.
Keith Barker, Michael Bowler, Cayne Hanley, Jake Speight, Luke Horrocks and Josh Wilson have all been shown the door.
Maamria added: "It's the hardest part of my job.
"Telling somebody that they have no place in my future plans is not easy and I've found it difficult to be honest."
