AFC Telford chairman Lee Carter believes that Halifax Town's current crisis is very similar to the position Telford United were in four years ago.
The Shropshire-based side folded at the end of the 2003-2004 season but was soon reborn as AFC Telford thanks to the Telford United Supporters Trust.
Carter told the Evening Courier: "We have been following the events at Town closely and we know how the fans feel because it brings back the memory of what happened to us four years ago," he said.
"But we managed to reform and in some ways it was the best thing that has happened to us.
"It was very hard work at the time and we all had a few sleepless nights, but it was all worth it and the club is in a very healthy state at present.
"We have built up close links with the local community and embraced the supporters and I can't under-estimate how important the involvement of the fans is as they really feel they have a stake in the club.
"There's no reason why Halifax could not follow our model and we are always on the end of the phone for advice if needed."
