Reid extends Oxford stay

Blue Square Premier outfit Oxford United have signed former Macclesfield midfielder Levi Reid on a short-term deal.

The 23-year-old impressed with United in pre-season and has already scored twice in the league including a vital equaliser at Ebbsfleet last week and his new deal ties him to the club until the new year.

Boss Darren Patterson told the club's official website: "Levi has done very well for us, settled in nicely, and we're delighted that we will have him here until the new year. It gives him a bit more breathing space and security and I think there is even more to come from him in an Oxford shirt.

Reid started his career as a trainee at Port Vale before joining Macclesfield. This season he has made three starts and four sub appearances for the U's.
