Weymouth defender Kevin Sandwith believes keeping it tight at the back will be the key to the Terras' league success.
The Blue Square Premier club have been in fine fettle and moved to within three points of the play-off places following a 3-2 win over Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.
While the victory was pleasing, Sandwith is adamant that the Wessex Stadium outfit, who have leaked 14 goals in their last six games, need to stop conceding.
He told the Dorset Echo: "We conceded twice again on Saturday but to be fair the conditions were terrible and certainly played a part. The ball just would not sit down and it made for a lot tougher game.
"Losing the early goal was a poor start but we showed good character to come back and go into half-time 2-1 up.
"We then had Scott Doe sent off early in the second-half and had to play with ten men for around 40 minutes. They missed the resulting penalty but then equalised and put us under considerable pressure before we battled back and won it in injury-time, which was fantastic.
"We have been suffering with injuries a little bit over the last few weeks and players have had to move into different positions but we have now claimed seven points from our last three games and we will certainly take that.
"Previously we were playing well and not getting results but we seem to have turned a bit of a corner and now it is important that we try and keep this run going."
And ahead of Tuesday night's encounter against Woking, Sandwith is targeting a clean sheet.
"Going to Woking is always a tough away trip and the main thing we have to aim for now is keeping clean sheets because like I said we have been conceding too many goals recently," he added.
"If we can start doing that the results will take care of themselves because we always look dangerous going forward.
"If we are able to tighten up and get the balance right between defence and attack then I am really confident we could become a major force in this league."
