Stags not intimidated by 'Big guns'

Mansfield Town manager Billy McEwan says that his team will not be intimidated when playing three of the Blue Square Premier League's 'big guns' one after the other.

The Stags will lock horns with second placed Burton Albion on Monday night and follow it up with games against Wrexham and Torquay.

Although they've lost three of their last four games, boss McEwan believes his team are more capable than what they've been given credit for and is expecting the Stags to put together a string of good performances in the weeks to come.

"No team concerns me in this league other than my own," McEwan told This Is Nottingham.

"Burton are well-established in the Conference and Nigel (Clough) has done a good job.

"They are one of the teams who I would class as the big boys along with Stevenage, where I was disappointed we didn't get something because we played some excellent football in patches.

"We have also got Wrexham and Torquay to come, so we are playing four of the big sides in a row.

"It is a difficult run of games and we are going into them having dropped two wins through what I feel is no fault of our own after two diabolical decisions.

"But we are going into these games going for the three points - attack is the best form of defence.

"If we draw then we draw, but we are all in football to win matches. We have to get back to winning games."
