Darren Patterson
Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas says he is in no rush to appoint a successor for Darren Patterson.
The U's chairman said that applications were coming in thick and fast, but that he would take his time to seek out the exact manager he is looking to take over his club.
He told the BBC: "We need someone who has experience at non-league level, or getting out of the non-league level.
"We need someone who can develop a passion and desire in the players for Oxford United."
Thomas said that although he would not make a snap appointment, he was looking to have the position filled by the end of the year.
He added: "We aren't going to rush to make a decision.
"We have to make sure the right person is in place.
"You would hope we would be able to get someone before the transfer window opens."
