Flowers accepts Harriers role

Kidderminster Harriers are pleased to confirm that ex-England International Tim Flowers has agreed to continue work with the club's goalkeepers until the end of this season.

Former Southampton and Blackburn stopper Flowers stopped by for a one-off session with Aggborough custodians Jasbir Singh and Dean Coleman recently.

After receiving such a positive reaction from both of his players, boss Steve Burr has moved to make this a more permanent arrangement, with Flowers now to train with boys one day each week until this season's end.

"Having spoken to Jas and Dean it was clear that they hadn't had any individual work in training all season," Burr told harriers.co.uk.

"Tim is quite local to the club so to have an arrangement now whereby he can come in and share some of his experience with these lads on a more regular basis is fantastic and it is something we appreciate."

This arrangement has been put in place thanks to a contribution towards the costs from the Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust (KHIST).

Burr added: "The vast majority of the playing budget here is understandably tied up so to be able to call on this kind of help from the supporters is invaluable.

"Jas and Dean will benefit greatly form working with Tim and we really appreciate KHIST's contribution to bringing him here."

Steve Millington from KHIST, who will also be 'Player Sponsor' to Flowers, went on to add: "We are delighted to be able to work with Steve at this early point in his Harriers career by helping to secure the services of Tim for the rest of the season.

"We've made a small contribution towards the arrangement and we are always very happy to help the club in any way we can, be it money towards things like this or for overnight stays or to assist the manager in topping up what is available to him."
