Blue Square Premier outfit Eastbourne Borough have announced the signing of French full-back Sacha Opinel on a month's loan from Farnborough Town.

The experienced defender has found his first team chances limited at Farnborough with Nic Ciardini, Jamie Stevens and new signing Craig Braham-Barrett ahead of him in the pecking order.

However, Boro boss Steve King was keen to point out that the 32 year-old is still very much a part of his future plans.

King told Farnborough's official website: "Sacha has had a spell out of the side due to the recent poor weather and suspension.

"He acknowledges the current form of Nic Ciardini, Jamie Stevens and new signing Craig Braham-Barrett and he was frank in his opinion that it would be better for all parties that he was playing as opposed to sitting on the bench.

"It is testament to his ability, experience and reputation that he has signed for a club at the highest level of Non League football, he remains very much part of my plans."

Opinel is expected to go straight into Eastbourne's squad for Tuesday night's Blue Square Premier League trip to Rushden and Diamonds.
