Ogleby wants starting berth

Wrexham striker Rob Ogleby has set his sights on regaining his place in the starting line-up after signing a new deal at the Racecourse Ground.

The Welshman signed a new contract that will keep him at the club through the 2013/2014 season, but has struggled to get into the first side following a series of injuries that have given him limited opportunities in recent times.

The Wales U21 International, though, scored in the Dragons 4-1 demolition of ailing Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday night and insists he is fully focussed on regaining his place in the starting lineup.

"I have enjoyed myself since I have been here and I am delighted to stay," he told the Leader.

"I felt sharp in pre-season, had a good pre-season and started the season well.

"I was a bit frustrated with the injuries but I am just glad to get the deal and now hopefully I can concentrate on getting back in the team and playing like I was at the start of the season, and help get the team get up to League Two."

With plenty of attacking options at player-manager Andy Morrell's disposal, Ogleby understands that places in the side are limited and believes it only makes the team stronger.

"The competition for places gets everyone playing their best which is good," he said.

"Everyone has got to be top of their game if they want to stay in the team so it is always healthy."
