Chapman joins Stags on loan

Blue Square Bet Premier club Mansfield Town have secured the loan signing of Adam Chapman from League Two outfit Oxford United until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old began his career at Sheffield United in 2007 before joining the U's on loan in January 2009.

The midfielder eventually joined Oxford on a permanent deal and went on to be a regular in the club's midfield, also helping them gain promotion to the Football League.

After a spell out of the game, Chapman then returned to Kassam Stadium, and after being loaned to Newport County AFC for a five-game spell in 2011, once again establishing himself as a first-team regular.

Chapman, who had trained with the Stags in 2012, will offer Paul Cox another option in the middle of the park and could make his debut against Stockport County this weekend.
