Ian Bogie
Gateshead boss Ian Bogie has bemoaned his side's narrow defeat to AFC Telford United on Saturday after they succumbed 1-0 to The Bucks.
The Tynesiders mentor has expressed his disappointment at the way his side conceded the only goal of the game after Telford's James Meredith drove the ball home from a corner.
Bogie told the Chronicle: "It was disappointing to lose, particularly to a goal from a corner, because there was nothing between the two sides and the game could have gone either way.
"Even Telford's management duo felt we deserved a point.
"We had a great chance early on but did not take it and Jamie Harwood, who again did well out wide, went close after the break.
"We were comfortable and dangerous on the counter-attack but, just as against other top sides like leaders Tamworth and Harrogate, we have not earned our just desserts from the game.
"We matched Telford, but if I had to be critical too often we were in great positions out wide only for the final delivery or pass to be lacking, and the two lads up front, for once, had an off day.
"There were, however, a number of pleasing individual performances and, having now played most of the top sides, I feel we are not far away."
