Cambridge United have parted ways with versatile left back Stephen Reed after just one season at the Abbey Stadium.
The Barstaple-born defender has been looking to reunite with former U's assistant manager Alan Lewer, who is currently working at Blue Square Premier club Weymouth.
Cambridge chairman Philip Law told the club's official website: "Having agreed a new deal in May, Stephen was looking renegotiate his terms and conditions at the start of this season and we decided it was in everyone's best interests to allow him to move on."
Meanwhile, U's boss Gary Brabin has taken Bury striker Domaine Rouse on trial and the 18-year-old will be involved in Wednesday's match against Soham Town.
"He's an exciting, fast forward who's quite physical too, and he's coming in for a week to ten days for us to have a look at," Brabin said.
Crawley boss Steve Evans has confirmed he's in talks to sign Isiah Rankin but trialists Mitchell Coop and Tom Lyons will not be offered contracts at Broadfield Stadium.
York City manager Colin Walker has revealed that he will not be offering a deal to experienced winger Lee Elam.
Walker told the York Press: "Lee Elam will not be joining us. At this moment in time, I didn't think it was right to add anyone to our squad."
Oxford United defender Alex Jeannin has joined league rivals Mansfield Town on trial after falling out of favour at Kassam Stadium.
The left back was placed on the transfer list by Oxford boss Darren Patterson and he will now link up with former teammate Rob Duffy, who is currently on trial with the Stags.
Exeter City are running the rule of three new trialists this week as manager Paul Tisdale looks to solidify his defensive options.
James Harper, Billy Franks and Michael Clark linked up with the Grecians recently and Tisdale is yet to make a decision on the trio.
"It's no secret that I want to find some defensive cover," Tisdale told the Express & Echo. "I'm looking to bring in a young defender or two because that's where we need to balance it up a bit.
"I'm quite happy to bring someone in who's a first-team player straightaway, someone like Ryan Harley for example who came in and three months later forced his way into the side.
"That's the ideal situation and, with that in mind, I'm looking at these players."
