Vieira voted January's top player

Ebbsfleet United forward Magno Vieira has won the Blue Square Premier 'Player of the Month' award for January.

The skilful Brazilian found the net five times in four starts for his club during the period.

Ebbsfleet gave themselves every chance of staying in the Blue Square Premier as they took nine points from a possible fifteen to move out of the relegation zone. Vieira contributed with two goals in the stunning comeback victory against Forest Green and another brace in the 3-2 win at pre-season favourites Luton Town.

In the Blue Square South the award goes to Newport County's Sam Foley.

The former Republic of Ireland U18 international scored three valuable goals for the Exiles as they completed a trio of league wins. Foley becomes the fifth award winner from the club in a season in which they are sweeping all before them at the top of the table.

Nick Rogan from Fleetwood Town has won the award in the Blue Square North.

Rogan helped his side to five home wins in the division during a month in which the Highbury pitch played its part in taking Town to the top of the table. Rogan opened his January account in the 4-0 New Years Day win over fellow title chasers Southport. He also scored twice in the win over Blyth and a fourth for the month in the victory over Hinckley.
