Saturday's Blue Square South Preview

Newport County will be looking to add to their lead at the top of the table when they entertain Welling United on Saturday afternoon.

The Exiles have been fantastic this season and look certain to achieve promotion to the Blue Square Premier for next season.

The Wings are stuck in mid-table but are not out of the race for a play-off place and will no doubt be boosted if they are able to get a result at the Newport Stadium.

Second-placed Woking play host to fellow promotion-hopefuls Thurrock in what is sure to be a cracking match.

Both sides are flying high and will want to gain the psychological edge over their opponents in the race for promotion.

The Cards have had mixed results at home all season but will be hoping that their recent run of three games unbeaten on home soil will give them the advantage.

Dover face a tricky trip to Bath City, knowing that if they lose they will drop below their hosts on goal difference. Like the Woking v Thurrock clash, this encounter is sure to be an absolute cracker with both teams pushing for promotion.

The Whites will have a new recruit raring to go ahead of the clash - Daniel Leach. The defender will want to prove a point after arriving on loan from Barnet.

City are just two points off the play-off places are unbeaten in three matches, while suffering just one defeat in their last six.

Weston-Super-Mare will be eager to pick up valuable points when they travel to St Albans.

The Seagulls are rock bottom of Blue Square South and will need to pick up points soon if they are to avoid the drop.

Weymouth are another club struggling for points and a trip to a tough Staines Town side is not going to be easy.

Two wins in six for The Terras sees them occupy second-last place, which leaves the former Blue Square Premier outfit in a desperate position in the league standings.
