Red Devils to cut down Forest Green

Sunday February 10, 2008

Forest Green Rovers v Crawley Town (19.30, Live on Setanta 1)

Prices correct at time of writing (1pm, Wednesday February 6, 2008).

Home 11/10 Draw 9/4 Away 2/1

I've been a big Forest Green fan all season, they're in seventh place in the table and could still reach the play-offs and have managed to keep hold of the league's top scorer Stuart Fleetwood. Things are going well but it's just in front of the Setanta cameras that Forest Green have frozen. My mind goes back to a home defeat by Salisbury and the game against Woking in the Setanta Shield.

Crawley have hit unbelievable form winning eight of their last nine games, which included an 8-0 FA Trophy thrashing of Droylsden last weekend. In the last six league games only York have picked up more points. So when I looked at the prices, I thought Crawley would be around 7/4, perhaps a bit shorter so the 2/1 has tempted me and I must admit I'm going to be looking at that as a real betting opportuinity to get stuck in.

I like Forest Green, their boss Jim Harvey and the way they play and I'm hoping they get into the play-offs because personally I've backed them to win promotion but you've sometimes got to bet with your head and this Sunday is one of those occasions. Crawley are a team I've watched closely and I don't think the Red Devils are going to lose this match. As a result, you can also back Crawley Draw No Bet at 11/8.

Verdict: Away win

Best Bet: Crawley 2/1
