Struggling Lewes set for more misery

Saturday January 3, 2008

Eastbourne Borough v Oxford United (All matches kick-off at 15.00)

No prices currently available.

Home Draw Away

I think Oxford United have got a good chance of picking up a win here. The U's have been disappointing away from home, particularly their 2-1 defeat at Salisbury on Boxing Day, but this looks like three points on the road for United against Eastbourne. Oxford to win it for me.

Verdict: Away win

Ebbsfleet v Wrexham

Home Draw Away

Ebbsfleet have had some indifferent results recently and they are at home to Wrexham on Saturday. If the Red Dragons are going to be serious title contenders for the Blue Square Premier then it's these sort of matches that they have to win. I'm going to take Dean Saunders' men to win on the road and get the three points.

Verdict: Away win

Salisbury City v Rushden & Diamonds

Home Draw Away

I expect Rushden & Diamonds to win this one. Salisbury are in and out and I've seen them play well, average and poorly on a number of occasions so far this season. Rushden have also been inconsistent during the current campaign. I expect this to be a tough match for the Diamonds but I think Rushden will get the victory.

Verdict: Away win

Stevenage Borough v Lewes

Home Draw Away

Stevenage need a much better second half of the season and have a good chance to get off on the front foot at home to struggling Lewes, who are second-from-bottom in the table. This should be a home banker for Boro. If they can't win this one then it's back to the drawing board. I expect Stevenage to win by three or four goals against Lewes, who look set for relegation at the end of this season.

Verdict: Home win
