Steve Fallon's Histon take on Weymouth
Saturday January 10, 2009
Mansfield Town v Altrincham
Prices correct at time of writing (1.30pm, Wednesday January 7, 2009).
Home evens Draw 23/10 Away 5/2
This should be a home win for Mansfield under normal circumstances but the Stags have struggled this season after relegation from League Two and have had to contend with a four-point deduction for fielding ineligible players.
Graham Heathcote has done a tremendous job at Altrincham on a show-string budget. This is a rare opportunity for Altrincham to make it three away wins in a row having beaten Northwich on Boxing Day and won at York on December 28. Three points would be a tremendous result but I'm going for a 0-0 draw.
Verdict: Draw
Histon v Weymouth
Home 8/13 Draw 5/2 Away 9/2
Second-placed Histon have three games in hand on top-of-the-table Burton and this could be a chance to close the gap on the Brewers. The Stutes will fancy their chances at home to Weymouth, but Histon will also have their rescheduled FA Cup third-round tie against Swansea on their minds. Histon are the favourites but I think Weymouth could get a point. The Stutes will be hard to beat and they can't afford to drop more points. They'll be looking for a win, but I'm going for a draw.
Verdict: Draw
