Bluebirds set to soar

Barrow v Salisbury City

Prices correct at time of writing (2pm, Wednesday January 28, 2009).

Home evens Draw 23/10 Away 5/2

This is a real six-pointer between two sides who started the season well but have slipped down the table. We always thought that Salisbury's position was rather false and they had more points than their performances deserved. Barrow started really well but everyone expected the traveling to get to them and that is possibly what is happening. That is also why this is such an important game for the Bluebirds. If they are going to stay up, and I think they will probably do just enough, they are going to have to win these type of home games. Despite their 2-1 defeat at Burton Albion on Monday night, I'm going for a 1-0 win for Barrow.

Verdict: Home win

Eastbourne Borough v Mansfield Town

Home 5/4 Draw 9/4 Away 2/1

I think this is a really interesting match. I was initially thinking Mansfield have a good chance of victory but Eastbourne put in the performance of midweek with a 4-0 win at Woking on Tuesday night and I think they can get another three points here. Mansfield drew 0-0 at home to Rushden & Diamonds last time out but I think Eastbourne will get a three more points against an inconsistent Stags outfit.

Verdict: Home win

Woking v Northwich Victoria

Home 8/11 Draw 12/5 Away 7/2

Woking were woeful in midweek with a 4-0 defeat at home to Eastbourne. You've got to check your fixtures here because there is still doubt as to where this game will take place.

Originally the match was supposed to be Northwich at home to Woking. There's still a lot of controversy about what is happening at the Vics at the moment. The Northwich players showed great heart and got an unlikely 3-3 draw at Wrexham in midweek. The Vics were leading until Patrick Suffo netted a 90th minute penalty for Wrexham. That result was one of the surprises of the season. This game will take place but we don't know whether it will be at Northwich or Woking so check before you put your bet on. If Woking lose then they are in freefall, a bit like the Vics. The logical result is a point apiece.

Verdict: Draw
