Cambridge United v Mansfield Town
Prices correct at time of writing (4.50pm, Thursday February 11, 2009).
Home evens Draw 23/10 Away 5/2
Cambridge are currently in the top five and look well placed to secure another trip to Wembley after play-off final heartbreak against Exeter last season. Mansfield have improved in recent weeks but I still don't think they have enough quality to trouble Gary Brabin's side so I will be backing the U's to win at evens.
Verdict: Home win
Eastbourne Borough v Crawley Town
Home 11/8 Draw 9/4 Away 7/4
This should be a very tight contest between two sides who sit inside the top-half of the Blue Square Premier table. Eastbourne have picked up seven home wins so far so season but Crawley still have a big chance of reaching the play-offs and will be able to pick up a point on their travels.
Verdict: Draw
Oxford United v Barrow
Home 1/2 Draw 11/5 Away 11/2
Oxford would be one of the favourites to claim a play-off spot if they hadn't been deducted five points for fielding an ineligible player. Saturday's visitors to the Kassam Stadium are Barrow, who are in big relegation trouble, and I see no reason why Chris Wilder cannot continue the superb start to his reign as Oxford boss.
Verdict: Home win
Rushden & Diamonds v Lewes
Home 4/9 Draw 14/5 Away 13/2
Rushden will start as favourites to win this match but it is hard to make too convincing a case for them to bag the three points after their recent poor run of form.
Manager Garry Hill left Nene Park after the Diamonds lost 3-0 to Burton on Monday night and former Grays boss Justin Edinburg will be in temporary charge for Saturday's game. It will be interesting to see how the players respond against struggling Lewes and I think they will claim a narrow win.
Verdict: Home win
Salisbury City v Histon
Home 11/5 Draw 23/10 Away 11/10
Salisbury have tumbled down the table after a decent start to the season. Histon are still in with a great chance of bagging a play-off spot but their form has slipped in recent weeks and I'm not convinced they will be able to win this match. The Whites strengthened their squad at the end of the transfer window and should be able to pick up a point on Saturday.
Verdict: Draw
Torquay United v Altrincham
Home 4/7 Draw 5/2 Away 5/1
Torquay missed a great chance to move into the play-offs as they lost 2-0 at home to Weymouth on Tuesday night. I think their problems will continue on Saturday as Altrincham, who have impressed throughout this season, look well set to grab a draw at Plainmoor and further dent the Gulls' promotion bid.
Verdict: Draw
Weymouth v Stevenage Borough
Home 2/1 Draw 9/4 Away 5/4
Stevenage looked a good tip to win this match until Weymouth's shock win at Torquay. I feel that the Terras will be boosted by that fine result and they should be capable of challenging a Borough side who have major designs on a play-off place. The draw therefore looks well worth backing.
Verdict: Draw
Woking v Kettering Town
Home 6/4 Draw 9/4 Away 13/8
Kettering look to have been suffering from their FA Cup exploits in recent weeks. Saturday's trip to Woking looks like a great chance of pushing back towards the top five as the Cards continue to struggle at the wrong end of the table. An away win looks likely as Mark Cooper's side continue their impressive season.
Verdict: Away win
Wrexham v Grays Athletic
Home 8/15 Draw 13/5 Away 11/2
Wrexham have been in superb form in recent weeks as they push for a quick return to the Football League. The Red Dragons will be hoping to bag another three points against a Grays side who have picked up a few decent results in recent weeks but remain at the wrong end of my table. I will be backing the home side.
Verdict: Home win
York City v Forest Green Rovers
Home 4/5 Draw 12/5 Away 16/5
York can't afford to slip up at the moment as they sit dangerously close to the relegation zone. Forest Green are in even more danger of dropping out of the Blue Square Premier and I believe they will fall to another defeat on Saturday. Rovers are still missing the goals that Stuart Fleetwood provided for them last season so a home win looks likely.
Verdict: Home win
Sunday February 15, 2009
Kidderminster Harriers v Northwich Victoria
Home 4/11 Draw 10/3 Away 16/5
Kidderminster have won their last two home games in a row and look set to bag another three points on Sunday. The Harriers' home record is impressive and they will be able to take advantage of a Northwich side that are in disarray having failed to win in 15 league and cup games. This looks like a home banker.
Verdict: Home win
