York Backed To Bag Vital Victory

Altrincham v Grays

Prices correct at time of writing (6.30pm, Wednesday, April 15).

Home 13/10 Draw 12/5 Away 17/10

Altrincham secured an impressive 1-0 victory at Wrexham in their last match and I think they can bag another three points against Grays on Saturday. The visitors desperately need to win as they look to keep their Blue Square Premier status but the Robins look like the side to back at Moss Lane.

Verdict: Home win

Barrow v Crawley

Home 7/5 Draw 12/5 Away 8/5

Barrow will be hoping to secure victory against Crawley in order to stay in the Blue Square Premier. The Cumbrian outfit know three points would be a big boost to their survival chances as they look to move clear of fellow strugglers Grays, Woking, Weymouth and York. Crawley still have outside hopes of grabbing a play-off spot but I feel they will face a tough time at Holker Street on Saturday.

Verdict: Home side

Forest Green v Rushden

Home 11/10 Draw 5/2 Away 2/1

Forest Green have almost secured their spot in the Blue Square Premier for another season after facing a tough time when star striker Stuart Fleetwood left for Charlton in the summer. Rovers have struggled at home but I think they will beat Rushden to stay away from a nervous final day at the bottom of the table.

Verdict: Home win

Histon v Kidderminster

Home 11/8 Draw 23/10 Away 17/10

This is a battle between two sides who are both scrapping for a spot in the Blue Square Premier play-offs. Histon have a tremendous home record but they face a Kidderminster side who have secured some fantastic results in recent weeks to move into the top five. A draw looks the most likely outcome as we near the final stages of the season.

Verdict: Draw

Kettering v Wrexham

Home 6/5 Draw 12/5 Away 15/8

Wrexham will be demoralised by their poor form in the last few weeks. Defeats to Oxford and Altrincham in their last couple of games have ended their outside chance of bagging a play-off spot so another season of Blue Square Premier football awaits. This should be a tight contest but I think Kettering can secure the three points.

Verdict: Home win

Northwich v Lewes

Home 8/15 Draw 14/5 Away 9/2

Northwich can still stay in the Blue Square Premier on goal difference and I think they can keep their slim hopes of survival alive for another week. Lewes are the only side below Victoria in the table and this should provide another chance for the Cheshire outfit to secure three points as they try to maintain their recent good form.

Verdict: Home win

Salisbury v Cambridge

Home 11/5 Draw 5/2 Away evens

Cambridge will be hoping that their title dream is alive when they travel to Salisbury. If Oxford beat Burton on Friday night the U's can still bag the Blue Square Premier title so three points could be essential on Saturday. I am going to back the away side and they are one of my top tips for the weekend's action.

Verdict: Away win

Stevenage v Torquay

Home 5/4 Draw 23/10 Away 15/8

Stevenage are one point below Torquay in the Blue Square Premier table and they know that a win would help keep them clear of Oxford and Histon as the battle to secure a play-off spot intensifies. Both sides are evenly matched so a draw looks like the result to back.

Verdict: Draw

Weymouth v Ebbsfleet

No prices available

Weymouth still have to play York before the season ends so this will be a good chance for them to grab a rare victory before that crunch match. Bobby Gould is now in charge of the Wessex Stadium outfit and I think he can lead them to victory against Ebbsfleet, who now appear to have pulled clear of trouble.

Verdict: Home win

Woking v Mansfield

Home 8/11 Draw 5/2 Away 10/3

Woking can give themselves a fighting chance of staying in the Blue Square Premier by claiming three points from this match. They have struggled to grab goals this season but I feel, due to the importance of this match to the strugglers, the Cards are the side to back against mid-table Mansfield.

Verdict: Home side

York v Eastbourne

Home 5/6 Draw 5/2 Away 14/5

York need to win as this season nears its conclusion. Martin Foyle's side are currently in the relegation zone but their next two games against Eastbourne and Forest Green provide a good chance to pull clear of danger. They have wasted good chances to grab victory in recent weeks but I am going to back them for the three points on Saturday.

Verdict: Home win
