Torquay United face Histon at Plainmoor

Gulls tipped for Stutes victory

Friday May 1, 2009

Torquay United v Histon (19.45, Live on Setanta 1)

Prices correct at time of writing (1pm, Wednesday April 29, 2009).

Home evens Draw 9/4 Away 5/2

Torquay's win over Burton Albion meant the Gulls finished fourth in the table and they host third-placed Histon. They actually met on the first day of the season when they shared 1-1 draw at Histon, while Torquay beat the Stutes 4-1 at Plainmoor so Histon have yet to pick up a win against the Gulls. Evens is a super price on a Torquay victory for this match. I think Histon will have a bit of a struggle travelling down to Torquay on a Bank Holiday Friday and I also think Torquay are the better side and I thought they should be odds on for this game. The odds have tempted me and I think United will set up a first leg advantage to take to the Glassworld Stadium on Monday. I think the Gulls will progress to the play-off final and set up a clash with Cambridge United.

In the outright betting Cambridge are the favourites for promotion at 2/1, Torquay are 9/4, Stevenage 11/4 and Histon 7/2.

Verdict: Home win

Best Bet: Half-time / Full-time - Torquay / Torquay 9/4
