Halifax v Aldershot

Halifax Town will be playing for their Blue Square Premier future when league champions Aldershot Town visit the Shay on Saturday afternoon.

Home boss Chris Wilder is expecting a big performance from his charges as they attempt to escape the dreaded drop zone.

He told the Halifax Courier: "Aldershot are a good side who have done it week in week out all season. We just have to make sure that we are spot on.

"We have to be good at the big moments in the game, take advantage when we are in front of the Aldershot goal and keep our concentration and discipline at the back.

"The players have to play as confidently as they can," he said. "And the supporters have a part to play in that.

Defender Simon Ainge is serving a one-match suspension while Daryl Taylor, Andy Campbell and Lewis Killeen will all face late fitness checks.

Having already gained promotion Aldershot will likely offer some players a breather although Lewis Chalmers and Scott Davies will be forced absentees, serving a two and six-match ban respectively.

"Whatever their feelings towards me or the other things happening off the pitch the fans have to get behind the players.

"And that is whether things are going well or if mistakes are made."

Santos Gaia is expected to step in for the Shaymen and deputise in defence for the suspended Simon Ainge.

Nathan Joynes is the only definite absentee but Andy Campbell and Lewis Killeen (both knocks) along with Daryl Taylor (back) and Gareth Davies (groin) will need to face late fitness tests.

Meanwhile, Junior Mendes is unlikely to feature for the visitors, while Dean Smith and Dave Winfield (both knee) are out.

Suspended duo Lewis Chalmers and Scott Davies will be missing in action for the Shots who are certain to undergo a rotation policy for the remaining games.
