Oxford Utd v Northwich

Oxford United prepare for the visit of in-form Northwich Victoria to Kassam Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they look to collect a vital three points.

The U's still have a chance of claiming the last play-off place with a victory over Northwich, but can only do so if Torquay lose at home to Burton Albion and Kidderminster don't beat Kettering.

Manager Chris Wilder will have to make do without the services of suspended defender Chris Willmott.

However, fellow defender Barry Quinn could deputise after returning from a five-month spell on the treatment table.

Wilder told the Oxford Mail: "We need a big effort on Sunday, but we're more than capable of winning the game.

"We need to be bang at it, to compete, to play at a really good tempo, and to get the ball to our front boys, and we feel we've got talented players who can win us this game.

"There will be a lot of talk on everybody's situation and it will be down, at 4 o'clock tomorrow, to who handles the situation better, who plays the better football and who is the better team on the day.

"And there's no doubt that Burton can be the better team on the day, and Kettering can be the better team against Kidderminster.

"Fingers crossed that those results come in and we've got to make sure we're the better team against Northwich."

Relegated Northwich Victoria head into the penultimate game of the season in good spirits after winning their last five consecutive Blue Square Premier fixtures.

Caretaker boss Andy Preece is boosted by the return of midfielder Matt Crowell following a two-match suspension.

Defender Danny Meadowcroft is doubtful and faces a late fitness test, while Ryan Brown is expected to miss out once again with a knee injury.
