Lewes v York City

Rock-bottom Lewes will be looking to end their season on a high when fellow-strugglers York City make the trip to the Dripping Pan on Sunday afternoon.

Steve Ibbitson's side suffered yet another home defeat at the hands of Kettering Town on Tuesday night and the Lewes boss is calling on his side to end the campaign on a positive note.

"We would like to finish up with a win against York and we will go into the match in a positive frame of mind," the caretaker manager told the Sussex Express.

"It has been my job to install confidence in the players and we have been positive ahead of every game, so that whatever the circumstances we are hopeful of a win."

Winger Stefan Cox is a major doubt for the season finale, along with Sam Fisk, Geoff Banks-Smith (ankle) and Chris Breach (ankle).

Sunday's clash could be Ibbitson's last game in charge, but he expects to still be involved next season.

He added: "Unless the new management brings in their own people, and that's not unusual in football, then I will return to my duty as youth team coach.

"But either way, I am expecting to be involved with the club in some way, shape or form next season."

York City sealed their league safety with a 2-1 victory over Weymouth on Friday evening and manager Martin Foyle will make a number of changes on Sunday.

He told the York Press: "There will be a few changes to give others a chance and an opportunity to top up their fitness."

Cup-tied pair Christian Smith and Adam Smith will be rested ahead of York's FA Trophy final against Stevenage on May 9.
