Cambridge United v Stevenage

Cambridge United will be hoping to pull off a sensational comeback and overturn a 3-1 deficit when they entertain Stevenage on Monday afternoon.

The U's were outplayed in the semi-final, first leg at Broadhall Way, despite Boro being reduced to ten men following Darren Murphy's sending off.

However, there is a sense of belief in the U's camp according to midfielder Jon Challinor.

"Everyone will think Stevenage are there, but we believe in ourselves," he told Cambridge News Online. "If we get a couple of goals, then the tie is open again."

Coach Gary Brabin echoed his sentiments, but admitted that it would be a tough task.

"It's not over but we've made it hard for ourselves," he told the club's official website.

The mentor blamed individual errors for his side's defeat and is expecting a better showing from them on Monday afternoon.

The U's will be boosted by the return of Andy Parkinson, who is fit again after illness. With the hosts in need of goals, Courtney Pitt, Scott Rendell and Chris Holroyd could all be given the green light to start upfront.

Meanwhile, visiting defender Mark Roberts has warned his team-mates against complacency and is urging them to complete the job.

"We go there with the mentality to win the game," he told The Comet. "If we win that game then we're in the play-off final with an opportunity to get into the Football League so although it's great to be taking a 3-1 win we don't want to be resting on our laurels.

"It's just half time. We can't get carried away although it was a fantastic performance. We've got to go there and finish off the job now."

Murphy will be back in contention for Boro despite his red card in Thursday's fixture as the visitors have appealed the sending off. The club have been cleared to select the player until a disciplinary panel reviews the incident on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, David Bridges (knee) will miss out, while Jon Ashton has shrugged off his shoulder strain.
