Luton v Wrexham

Promotion hopefuls Luton Town host midtable Wrexham at Kenilworth Road in a Blue Square Premier clash on Saturday.

Richard Money's outfit are eight points adrift of top spot and six behind Oxford United who are in second and will be eager to collect another victory to stay in touch with the leaders.

The Hatters needed a late penalty to defeat Forest Green in their last outing and although Ed Asafu-Adjaye has admitted that they were below par in that match, the defender told Luton Today the win proves Luton have the right character to compete with the best during the run-in.

"We all know it wasn't the best of performances (against Rovers) but there were positives in the game. The biggest positive was we didn't give up," Asafu-Adjaye said.

"We are a big club, a big name and coming along strongly."

The home team have a number of concerns going into the fixture with midfielders Kevin Nicholls (knee) and Adam Newton (hamstring) both ruled out due to injury.

Forward Liam Hatch is set to undergo a late fitness test and could feature if his hamstring holds up while Barnsley midfielder Simon Heslop, who has arrived on an emergency loan, goes straight into Money's match-day squad.

The visitors travel to Bedfordshire having notched up three consecutive 1-1 draws in the league and midfielder Luke Holden is hoping the Dragons return to winning ways this weekend.

"We have to put things right on Saturday against Luton Town, but we know it will be tough because we're away from home and they're doing well," he told The Daily Post.

"We will take every game as it comes, but we're playing three games a week and it can be hard. But we believe we can beat anyone on our day. Someone is due a hiding soon, and hopefully that will come on Saturday."

Boss Dean Saunders will have to make do without the services of defender Frank Sinclair who serves the first of his four-match suspension following his sending off against Altrincham while an ankle niggle is expected to keep Gareth Taylor on the sidelines.
