Tuesday's Blue Square South Wrap

Hampton & Richmond moved up to fourth while both Hayes & Yeading and Maidenhead failed to close the gap on leaders Chelmsford in the Blue Square South on Tuesday.

Bishop's Stortford 1 Hampton & Richmond 3

Alan Devonshire's Hampton & Richmond climbed up to fourth in the Blue Square South on Tuesday when they beat Bishop's Stortford 3-1 at Woodside Park.

The Bishop's took the lead after 21 minutes when David Jackman found the back of the net, but the lead lasted only 11 minutes as Beavers midfielder Steve Tyson equalised on 32 minutes.

Martin Hayes' will be disappointed that his side did not manage to hold for the point as the game went into the the last 10 minutes all square at 1-1.

But late goals by Ben Wright on 81 minutes and Lawrence Yaku on 87 minutes secured the three points for Devonshire's men.

The result leaves Bishops third-from-bottom with 12 points while Hampton move to fourth on 31 points.

Bromley 1 Hayes & Yeading 0

Mark Goldberg will be delighted after is side beat high-flying Hayes & Yeading 1-0 at the Courage Stadium in the Blue Square South on Tuesday night.

The Ravens hitman Warren McBean scored the only goal of the game when he struck after 21 minutes.

The result sees Bromley up to 10th on 25 points in the Blue Square South while United failed to capitilise on the opportunity to close the gap on top-of-the-table Chelmsford, but still remain second on 32 points.

Maidenhead Utd 0 Newport County 1

Dean Holdsworth's Newport County collected a much-needed three points when they beat Maidenhead Utd at York Road in the Blue Square South on Tuesday.

The Exiles striker Craig Kevin Reid's goal proved to be the difference between the two sides.

The Magpies boss Johnson Hippolyte will be even more disappointed with the result as Hayes & Yeading's loss to Bromley meant that his side could have moved into second in the table had they picked up three points from the game.

Maidenhead now remain in third place in the table on 32 points and the win means that Newport move up to 17th on 16 points.
