Saturday's Blue Square South wrap

AFC Wimbledon extended their lead at the top, whilst their main rivals Hampton & Richmond took a thrashing in the Blue Square South league.

Wimbledon stuck in two goals in the space of four minutes, with John Main scoring on the stroke of half time before Danny Kedwell doubled the advantage just three minutes into the second period. Dorchester, who were one place off the relegation zone at the start of the game, toiled on but failed to muster a response.

Bath City recorded a win at home after a hard fought game with a determined Havant and Waterlooville. City opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Stuart Douglas. But the Hawks were back on level footing after 31 minutes, Luke Nightingale converting coolly from the spot. Then Douglas scored his second, a penalty in the 71st minute, to give City all three points.

14th placed Bishops Stortford gave 12th placed Dorcester a lesson in attacking football, hammering in three goals without response. Home fans at Woodside Park were treated to goals from Roy Essandoh in the second, Lewis Smith in the 35th and Marlon Patterson in the 40th minute. The second half was a more subdued affair, with neither team managing to score.

2nd Placed Hampton and Richmond received a rude reception at Park View Road as hosts Welling United handed them a four goal defeat. Loan signing Moses Ademola put the Wings in front in the 23rd minute before James Baker added a second from the penalty spot. Baker would a third in the 76th minute before Jack Parkinson rounded off the scoreline in the 90th.

Second from the bottom Bognor Regis Town continued the trend of upsets this weekend by beating 8th placed Team Bath 3-0. The Rocks played with unusual confidence going forward, Tom Hughes putting them ahead in the 20th minute. Ryan Gazet Du Chattelier made it two in the 30th minute before Jahson Downes completed the rout in the 88th minute.

All the results:

AFC Wimbledon 2-0 Dorchester
