Tuesday's Blue Square North and South Wrap

Gary Mills' Tamworth clinched the Blue Square North title on Tuesday night, while relegation-threatened Thurrock recorded a vital win against Braintree Town in the Blue Square South.

AFC Telford's place in the play-offs was confirmed after they cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over relegated Burscough.

Striker Danny Carey-Bertram broke the deadlock after just six minutes and on-loan midfielder Phil Trainer doubled their tally with a 50th minute effort.

Carey-Bertram popped up again in the 52nd minute to net his second of the game and put the result beyond doubt.

High-flyers Southport missed out on the chance to claim second place in the league standings after slumping to a narrow defeat at the hands of Blyth Spartans.

The Spartans went into this game with their league safety already confirmed and a 77th minute goal from striker Marc Walton was enough edge past the Sandgrounders.

Farsley Celtic and Alfreton Town picked up a point apiece after a six-goal thriller at Throstle Nest.

The visitors claimed a two-goal lead after goals from Anton Brown (8th minute) and Paul Clayton (12th minute) and the home side pulled one back through Lee Tuck's 20th minute goal.

Midfielder Josh Law restored Alfreton's two-goal lead just before the half-time break but a 57th minute goal from Dominic Krief reduced the deficit once again, and Damien Reeves netted a dramatic 90th minute goal to earn his side a valuable point.

6th-placed Stalybridge Celtic and 7th-placed Droylsden saw their play-off dreams dashed after playing to a 2-2 draw at Bower Fold.

The Badgers opened the scoring through Lee Ellington's 48th minute penalty but the visitors drew level just two minutes later thanks to defender Michael Byron.

Ellington doubled his and Stalybridge's tally with an 80th minute effort but the Bloods drew level at the death through Rory Patterson.

Tamworth sealed their status as Blue Square North champions after edging past 10th-placed Hinckley United at the Lamb Ground.

Striker Nick Wright found the back of the net with 55th minute effort to send the home fans into rapturous celebrations and help his side to victory.

Blue Square South

Andy Ford's Welling edged past Team Bath at Twerton Park thanks to Charlie Sheringham's 59th minute goal.

Thurrock fended off the spectre of relegation after recording a narrow victory over 14th-placed Braintree Town at Ship Lane.

The Fleet claimed the lead after 78 minutes through midfielder Fola Orilonishe and managed to hold on until the final whistle to claim a vital three points.

They have now set up a tense finale where they have to beat Bath City if they are to have any chance of beating the drop.
