Tuesday's Blue Square North and South Wrap

Three matches were played in the Blue Square North on Tuesday with AFC Telford, Gloucester and Blyth Spartans all victorious in their respective matches.

Blyth defeated Stalybridge Celtic in back-to-back matches as they followed up their 4-1 home win with a 1-0 victory away from home.

Paul Brayson scored the only goal in the 47th minute to hand Mick Tait's side their first midweek away win in two years.

The result sees Blyth in 11th place with 30 points from their 23 matches while Celtic remain on 35 points in seventh place from just 20 games played.

Gloucester defeated Solihull Moors 1-0 to banish memories of their weekend loss to Alfreton. Marc Richards was again on target for City but this time they held onto their lead to take home all three points.

Gloucester are now nine points clear of the relegation places but Moors are a further four points worse off in 18th place with 26 points from 23 games.

Vauxhall Motors have now conceded 10 goals in four days as they lost 5-1 to AFC Telford after their 5-0 capitulation at the hands of Redditch.

Vauxhall remain tooted to the bottom of the table while Telford, who got back to winning ways, find themselves in ninth place.

Danny Carey-Bertram gave the hosts the lead in the 19th minute with Josh Wilson grabbing an equaliser four minutes later.

Carey-Bertram though quickly ended any hopes their visitors may have had of earning a result when his put his side back into the lead five minutes later.

And he wasn't done there as he completed his hat-trick on 58 minutes before Andy Brown got in on the act after 65 minutes. Carey-Bertram had the final say, however as he bagged his fourth ten minutes from time.

Four matches took place in the Blue Square South on Tuesday evening with Dorchester's 1-0 victory over Thurrock the result of the night.

Dorchester are languishing in 16th place with 30 points from their 27 games while Thurrock are in 5th place. Victory for them would have seen them move above Woking into second place although someway off leaders Newport County, who lead the pack on 62 points.

Steve Devlin scored the only goal of the game as the match wound down, striking with 12 minutes remaining.

Elsewhere, Bath City inflicted a routine 1-0 defeat on bottom-club Weston-S-Mare, who despite a run of six straight defeats, remain just one points behind Weymouth. The Terras were also mid-week losers as they were routed 4-0 by Eastleigh

Bath's only goal was scored by Kaid Mohamed on 34 minutes and despite looking like scoring, Weston just couldn't find an end product and remain on 16 points. Bath, meanwhile are just two points adrift of the play-off places and just four behind Woking.

12-placed Basingstoke edged away from Bishop's Stortford in 13th spot with their 2-0 win, creating a four point gap between the two sides

After a goalless first half, Basingstoke broke the deadlock on 51 minutes through David Pratt with former Stortford player Tom Williamson netting the second from a free-kick on 64 minutes.

In the only other game, Richard Gillespie and Tom Jordan both scored two for Eastleigh to condemned Weymouth to a heavy defeat.

The results sees Eastleigh in seventh with 41 points from 25 games while Weymouth remain in serious trouble in 21st place.
