Second-placed Chelmsford and league leaders Newport County played to a goalless draw, while Basingstoke Town knocked six goals past rock-bottom Weymouth.

Hampton & Richmond Borough earned themselves some breathing room with a narrow victory over Bishop's Stortford at Woodside Park.

Striker Ian Hodges found the back of the net in the 70th minute to help the Beavers claim a vital three points.

Andy Hessenthaler's Dover Athletic kept their play-off charge on track with a 2-1 win against Braintree Town at Cressing Road Stadium.

Braintree midfielder Matt Game fired his side ahead on the half-hour mark but their lead didn't last long as Welsh forward Adam Birchall put the Whites back on level terms two minutes later.

And with the match finely poised at 1-1, defender Olly Schulz pooped up in the 79th minute to net the winning goal for Dover.

Staines Town remain in the hunt for the end-of-season play-offs after a 2-0 victory over play-off hopefuls Bromley at the Courage Stadium.

Ali Chabaan fired the Massive ahead after 19 minutes and fellow striker Marc Charles-Smith sealed the result when he found the back of the net in the 76th minute.

Havant and Waterlooville were unable to make their home advantage count as they were held to a stalemate by strugglers Lewes at West Leigh Park.

Gary MacDonald gave the Hawks the lead with a 32nd minute effort but Rooks defender Andrew Pearson popped up in the 90th minute to salvage a valuable point for his side.

Adie Britton's Bath City had enough gas in the tank to see off the challenge of Maidenhead United at York Road.

Welsh striker Kaid Mohamed fired the Romans ahead in the 43rd minute and fellow forward Darren Edwards doubled their advantage just two minutes later.

The Magpies managed to pull one back through striker Kieran Knight in the 63rd minute but Bath held firm to claim all three points.

Welling United and Dorchester Town played to a 1-1 draw at Park View Road with both sides find the net from the penalty spot.

The Wings broke the deadlock in the 17th minute through Lee Clarke but the Magpies were also awarded a spot kick in the dying minutes of the match which was calmly dispatched by Matt Groves.

Weston-super-Mare boosted their chances of beating the drop with a hard-fought draw against Eastleigh at Woodspring Stadium.

Spitfires striker Andy Forbes broke the deadlock in the 50th minute but the Seagulls drew level through Tom Cleverly's 60th minute effort.

Forbes popped up again in the 70th minute to bag his second of the game but the home side were up to the challenge and restored parity in the 80th minute through player-manager Andy Gurney.

Basingstoke Town cruised to massive win against relegation-threatened Weymouth at Wessex Stadium thanks to double hat-trick from Mitchell Bryant.

The former Manchester United trainee is currently on loan at Basingstoke from Championship outfit Reading and opened his account after just four minutes before going on to further torment Weymouth's defence with goals in the 26th, 42nd, 53rd, 62nd, 73rd minutes.

Relegation-threatened Worcester City rallied from two goals down to claim all three points against play-off hopefuls Woking at St George's Lane.

Nathaniel Pinney fired the Cardinals ahead in the tenth minute and Giuseppe Sole doubled their advantage when he found the back of the net in the 17th minute.

However, the Loyals pulled one back in the 33rd minute thanks to Rob Elvins and striker popped up again in the 67th minute to put his side back on even terms.

And with the match delicately poised on 2-2, it was defender Alfie Carter who netted the all-important winner in the 74th minute to send the home fans into wild celebrations.
