Tuesday's North and South Wrap

Second-placed Southport moved to within four points of Blue Square North frontrunners Fleetwood with two games in hand after their 1-0 away win over Stalybridge.

Steve Daly scored the only goal of the game just before the interval to give the Sandgrounders a valuable win.

Third-placed Alfreton Town continued their fine run of form with a 5-0 thrashing of Droylsden at the Impact Arena.

A Liam Hearn hat-trick as well as goals from Jake Moult and Paul Clayton saw the Reds romp to victory.

North Results:

Northwich 2 - 2 Corby

Alfreton Town 5 - 0 Droylsden

Gainsborough 2 - 1 Hyde

Stalybridge 0 - 1 Southport

Braintree Town moved up to fourth spot and into the the Blue Square South play-off places with a 2-1 win away at play-off hopefuls Thurrock.

Sean Marks opened the scoring for the visitors in the 27th minute, but their joy was short lived as Paul O'Lima levelled things up again just three minutes later.

But George Purcell's second-half strike ensured that the Iron came away with three valuable points and gave them a huge boost in their bid to make the play-offs this season.

South Results:

Hampton & Richmond 1 - 2 Dorchester

Thurrock 1 - 2 Braintree Town

Dover 0 - 2 Worcester
