Tuesday's Blue Square South Previews

AFC Wimbledon will be looking to finally go ahead of Chelmsford in the Blue Square South table while Fisher Athletic and Bognor Regis Town will be fighting to avoid bottom spot in Tuesday's Blue Square South fixtures.

Bishop's Stortford v AFC Wimbledon

The Dons will be keen to maintain their high-flying form when they travel to Woodside Park on Tuesday.

Jon Main netted a fine treble against Braintree Town on Saturday and the hat-trick hero will be eager to build on his prolific form.

"At the start of the season I wanted 30 goals this campaign, and I am well on the way to that," Main told YourLocalGuardian.

"Winning the Golden Boot would be an absolute dream.

"I would love to be able to say that I played league football.

"I hope I can hang on long enough at Wimbledon to see that happen, as this is a club with the potential to make that jump."

The Blues are currently low down the table and will be gunning for three much needed points.

St Albans v Welling United

Welling United will be looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat on the weekend when they travel to

Clarence Park on Tuesday.

St Albans have lost three out of their last five Blue Square South games but have had no problem racking up the goals.

New signing Anton Douglas is yet to make his bow for Welling and after the defeat on Saturday, it's likely that the left-sided player could feature against The Saints.

Fellow newbie Gavin Dayes did feature on the weekend and could very well do so again while Steve Castle will be pondering his options following St Alban's defeat to Bath City over the weekend.

Maidenhead Utd v Havant and Waterlooville

Havant and Waterlooville will be looking to up the ante when they travel to Maidenhead on Tuesday after a below par performance against Worcester City on Saturday.

The Hawks' boss Shaun Gake has Jack Crompton to thank for his 92nd minute equalizer which rescued the point.

It's likely that the young player will feature in the line-up on Tuesday.

"Jack is a young lad who desperately wants to play every week," Gale told PortsmouthToday.

"He has a great left foot and could have had two goals because he had a great strike which the keeper managed to push away.'

Maidenhead have struggled to defend set-pieces this season and the Hawks will be looking to make a meal of this weakness while the hosts will be banking on prolific scorer Richard Pacquette to add to his tally of 13 goals.

Team Bath v Worcester City

Team Bath will be eager to build on their form of the weekend when they host struggling Worcester City on Tuesday.

City boss Richard Dryden is hoping ex-Manchester United defender John Curtis will be able to make his debut for the club after the player failed to feature on Saturday following an injury during warm-ups.

"He should be involved tomorrow at Team Bath," Dryden told WorcesterNews

"He hasn't played since he was released by QPR, but he has done a lot of training.

"It's a no-brainer though, if he wants to come down and play. I have heard shouts that he'll come down here and not put the work in.

"But John is definitely not like that. He wants to come down and play for nothing which is great."

Hayes & Yeading United v Dorchester

Hayes & Yeading United will come out all guns blazing when they host Dorchester on Tuesday.

Josh Scott has netted thirteen times for United this season and he was the hero when they rescued a point during Saturday's 1-1 draw.

The Magpies have been inconsistent since last year mid-December and will be eager to get their Blue Square South Campaign back on track by returning to winning ways.

Fisher Athletic V Braintree Town

Fisher Athletic currently find themselves eight points adrift of relegation safety following six straight Blue Square South league defeats.

The Martyrs showed hints of improvement in their last two games - against AFC Wimbledon and Newport County - and the club will be hoping for a change in fortune on Monday.

Braintree Town meanwhile, are sitting pretty in 12th position, but will be wanting nothing less than a win as the point difference in the lower end of the table is rather negligable.

Basingstoke v Bromley

League strugglers Basingstoke will host steady Bromley on Tuesday night in the hope of gaining three vital points.

Allan Tait has had his loan period extended with The Dragons until March and while the striker failed to find the back of the net on

Saturday, he'll be keen to prove his worth during Tuesday's crucial clash.

Bromley will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to four games on the trot.

Bognor Regis Town v Thurrock

Bognor Regis Town will host Thurrock on Tuesday looking to replicate the weekend's display while altering the result.

Caretaker boss Darin Killpartrick was pleased with the fast and attacking football his side played and felt that the Rocks deserved to win.

After conceding an 85th minute equalizer, Town will be eager to make up lost ground when fellow strugglers Thurrock pay a visit to Nyewood Lane

"We were extremely proud of the players against Hayes. They moved the ball around well and did pretty much everything we asked of them," Killpartrick told the Bognor Regis Observer.

"We got forward quickly when we needed to, created openings and put Hayes under a lot of pressure.

"That's why we were bitterly disappointed to end up only with a draw.

"It was a soft goal we let in but I'm not going to publicly criticise any player. We are standing together and I was proud of the effort they put in."

The Rocks will field and all-out attacking side and fans can expect a couple of changes to Saturday's line-up.

Jack Smith and James Crane made their home league debuts on Saturday and Jahson Downes celebrated receiving the man of the match gong.

Midfielder Scott Chamberlain returned to Nyewood Lane recently and will be pushing for a spot in the starting line up.

Eastleigh v Bath City

Eastleigh will host Bath City on Tuesday and both teams will be looking to improve on their 1-1 from when they last met in September 2008.

The Spitfires are currently flying high on the Blue Square South table but haven't won since New Year's day whereas City are currently on a hot streak coupled with keeping twelve clean sheets this season.

Sekani Simpson made his return from injury on Saturday and Bath boss Adie Britton confessed that he'll be tampering with his starting lineup.

"It was an important game for Sekani today (on Saturday) because he'd been out for a month and he just needed the game under his belt - we weren't planning on giving them the whole game but that's the shape it took," Britton told The Bath Chronicle on Saturday.

"It won't be this side that we start with on Tuesday night at Eastleigh."
