Blue Square South's Midweek Preview

There are five clashes taking place over the course of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the Blue Square South.

Chelmsford City kick things off on Monday night when they place host to Basingstoke Town in a must-win clash for both sides.

The Clarets are still in the play-off places but another slump in form before the end of the campaign could see them slip out of the coveted positions - making this an important match for them.

The Dragons are still flirting with the relegation zone and will need a few more victories to secure their Blue Square South status for another season.

Basingstoke will go into the clash with high spirits having claimed a valuable victory over Maidenhead on Saturday afternoon.

Maidenhead United travel to Worcester City on Monday knowing a victory would boost their play-off hopes.

United have fallen off the pace recently and will look to pick things up going into the last few matches of the season.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back from disappointing defeats on Saturday.

Hayes & Yeading United can strengthen their place in the play-off spots when they travel to Braintree Town on Tuesday night.

United are sitting pretty in fifth place and a three-point haul will go a long way in boosting their chances.

Team Bath entertain Weston-Super-Mare in a mid-table battle, with both sides looking to finish the season as high up the table as possible.

The two teams suffered respective defeats over the weekend and will therefore be motivated to get things back on track.

On Wednesday, Newport County play host to Bath City in a match which will be played for pride more than anything else.
