Rushden boss Garry Hill
Torquay United missed out on the chance to cement their play-off berth after suffering a narrow defeat tat the hands of Rushden & Diamonds at Nene Park.
United got off to a dream start against Rushden & Diamonds when securing a 1-0 lead through Elliott Benyon after just six minutes of the match with a header breaching the home defence.
However, the hosts roared back in style and evened up the match when Michael Rankine smashed in a volley inside the Gulls box just before the half time interval.
Then, as the game ebbed and flowed in the second half, Jon Challinor broke the deadlock with a strike from 12 yards to give the Nene Park club the lead and all the points.
