Crawley boss Steve Evans
Steve Bull's Stafford Rangers are in danger of finishing at the foot of the Blue Square Premier table after slumping to a defeat at the hands of Crawley Town on Saturday.
The Rangers started brightly and opened the scoring after 13 minutes when Nick Wellecomm knocked a 12-yard effort into the bottom-right corner.
Crawley fashioned a reply just five minutes later thanks to Tyrone Thompson and they went on to claim the lead in the 37th minute courtesy of Mustapha Carayol's 12 -yard shot from the right-hand side of the penalty area.
Stafford tried to claw their way back into the game but Ritchie Sutton did his side no favours by collecting a straight red for a professional foul on Crawley forward Thompson.
Jamie Cook blasted the resulting spot kick into the top-left corner to double his side's advantage and put the game beyond the reach of the hosts.
Stafford bookings: Daniel 81, Draper 88.
Sent off: Sutton 56.
Crawley bookings: Blackburn 34, Thompson 80, Carayol 88.
Ref: G Stretton.
