Aldershot 0-0 Weymouth

League champions Aldershot Town were unable to make their home advantage count on Tuesday evening as they were held to a goalless draw by a battling Weymouth side.

Almost 6000 supporters turned out at Aldershot's Recreation Ground but they would have left disappointed after the encounter failed to produce any goals.

Aldershot's first real chance came after 13 minutes when Rob Elvins found himself in a threatening position but his 12-yard effort went wide of the left-hand post.

Weymouth goalkeeper Stephen Henderson spared his side the blushes late in the second half when he saved Joel Grant's shot from the left-hand side of the penalty area.

With just one match left in the season, Weymouth have sealed their safety while Aldershot have already clinched automatic promotion.

Aldershot bookings: Gier 40.

Weymouth bookings: Beavon 31, Malcolm 45, Doe 47, Challis 47.
